RICHARD B. G. VINCENT, CFA Vice President & Portfolio Manager

Rick joined The de Burlo Group, Inc. in January 1996 and is now Vice President.  He is responsible for all types of fixed income securities—domestic and foreign, taxable and tax exempt.

Rick has a strong background in the intricacies of the fixed income markets.  Prior to becoming a member of our team, he worked at BayBanks, Inc. for over twenty years.  He began his investment career as a portfolio manager in the trust department of BayBank Harvard Trust.  After brief involvement with municipal underwritings, he became Assistant Manager of the bank holding company’s investment portfolio.  In that position, Rick gained valuable expertise in the fixed income markets which eventually led him to become head of the institutional fixed income department of the holding company’s wholly-owned investment advisory subsidiary, BayBanks Investment Management, Inc.  He managed the fixed income portion of municipal pension accounts as well as the firm’s high grade bond mutual fund.

Rick is a graduate of Lawrence University and received his M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.  He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1979, and is a member of The Bond Analysts Society of Boston, as well as the CFA Society of Boston.

Rick is involved in the activities of the First Parish Church in Needham, having served as Treasurer, a member of the Trustees of Invested Funds, the Long Range Planning Committee, and is currently chair of the Make a Case for Children Committee and serves on three other committees involving outreach projects.  He is a longtime volunteer for generic ministry, a 501(c)3 charity which serves The Boston Homeless. He has participated in the town’s athletic programs, primarily as an assistant coach of teams affiliated with the Needham Soccer Club.
